Progressive Overload

Without Progressive Overload, you’d Plateau!

Progressive overload is when we apply a new stimulus / stress to the body, forcing the body to adapt and change to meet the demands of this stimulus.

Most women are scared of increasing weight / progressing as they “don’t want to get big”, but yet they want to be ‘Toned’ , without a new stimulus, the body will stay the same. This is very common for those that do the same Gym based classes / group exercise. Their body’s used to the stimulus/intensity, and has no reason to change.

Way’s in which you can implement a progressive overload:

• Increase Weight.

• More Reps or Sets.

• Slower Tempo.

• Shorten Rest Between Sets.

• Increase Range of Movement.

With progressive overload comes consistent progression.
