Excuses Holding You Back

The use of our language can greatly change our emotional state. * Locus of Control

A person's "locus" (plural "loci", Latin for "place" or "location") is conceptualised as internal (a belief that one can control one's own life) or external

(a belief that life is controlled by outside factors which the person cannot influence, or that chance or fate controls their lives). Being external is directly related to anxiety. Being more internal is directly related to self-esteem. It’s like a seesaw effect.

Being more consciously aware of the use of your language can positively improve your mood and increase self-esteem. Apposed to self doubt, and increasing stress/anxiety.
